Quincy (Jack Klugman) proves he's still the best medical examiner in Los Angeles in the fifth season of the long-running series. Tackling timely social issues, Quincy investigates a medical insurance-related death, elder abuse, a drunken driving fatality and a high school gymnast's steroid use. This season also includes the hair-raising episode "Riot," in which Quincy and his assistant, Sam (Robert Ito), are held hostage in a prison lockdown.
