As the 19th century winds down, captain of the French army Alfred Dreyfus is accused, convicted and imprisoned on charges of treason. While Dreyfus wastes away on Devil's Island, an investigation by Col. Georges Picquart (Richard Dreyfuss) has revealed a scheme that planned to do away with Dreyfus for good. Picquart spends the next 10 years doing whatever it takes to expose the wrongdoing and set an innocent man free.
