Lovable loser Curt (Paul Giamatti) enlists the help of his best buddies to build a rocket belt, which he firmly believes will make him famous. But when they begin to experience success, the partners soon learn that business and friendship don't mix. Too much ambition can be a dangerous thing, especially when it leads to murder, kidnapping and prison. Billy Crudup and David Hornsby also star in this dark comedy inspired by real events.
