Fantasy blends with drama in this tale of a 16-year-old albino (Sean Patrick Flanery) dubbed "Powder" (because of his stark-white skin). After an isolated existence in his grandparents' cellar, he's introduced into a small Texas town, where a pair of educators (Mary Steenburgen and Jeff Goldblum) learn that Powder can control electricity and has an IQ that Einstein would envy. But Powder soon arouses prejudice -- particularly by the local bully.
