A young boy toils in the coal mines of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and finds the brighter side of life in this heartwarming family drama. Set at the turn of the century, the story centers on Willie McLean (Alex Wrathell), who works alongside a pony in the mines. Willie endures the harsh conditions of the mining town, tries to improve the working conditions for the pit ponies and experiences many an adventure with his friends.
