This anime feature is the sequel to Oshii Mamoru's Patlabor 1. Three years after the events of the first film, Capt. Goto and his colleagues in the Mobile Police Patlabor division are caught in a web of political intrigue as a disgruntled veteran of the Japanese Self-Defense Force leads a militant terrorist group in a violent assault against Tokyo. Worse, the leader of the assault is none other than Nagumo's former teacher and ex-lover, Tsuge.
