When charismatic Pastor Brown (Keith David) falls gravely ill, he passes the mantle of church leadership to his estranged daughter and erstwhile exotic dancer Jesse (Salli Richardson) -- much to the dismay of the church's assistant pastor and Jesse's own family. As the new Pastor Brown comes to terms with the mistakes of her past, she also finds love with a Muslim man (director Rockmond Dunbar). Nicole Ari Parker co-stars in this drama.
