Heiress Joanna Stayton (Goldie Hawn) hires a carpenter, Dean Proffitt (Kurt Russell), to build a closet on her yacht to house her vast wardrobe. When Dean fails to complete the project, she refuses to pay him. But when Joanna accidentally falls overboard and loses her memory, Dean sees an opportunity to get even. Soon, he has Joanna convinced that she's the happy homemaker Dean and his four boys have been looking for.
