Orphans
(1998)|
A darkly funny family drama that lies in plain sight like industrial slag from a Glasgow factory, Orphans tells the tale of four Scottish siblings who come together to bury their mother. Against the grimy backdrop of Scotland's largest city, the siblings present a heartbreaking definition of dysfunction that, oddly, isn't entirely absent humor. Peter Mullan (My Name is Joe) directs the film from his own screenplay.
