A vacationing French writer, Fanette (Catherine Deneuve), meets a photographer named Matt (William Hurt) in New York City. Before you can say, "They were fated to be mated," the twosome embarks on a romantic escapade that conjures images of Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr in An Affair to Remember. Patrice Chereau directs this warm, light-hearted tale that costars Helene Fillieres and Gilbert Melki.
