Nature: Crash: A Tale of Two Species
(2008)|
Every year, the red knot, a South American shorebird, flies 10,000 miles to the Delaware Bay, where it feeds on the eggs of the ancient horseshoe crab -- a meal that fuels the red knot's long journey home. But now that humans have started using the horseshoe crab for both fishing bait and medicinal purposes, the red knot finds itself imperiled. Filmmaker Allison Argo explores this fascinating, endangered relationship in this "Nature" episode.
