In this anime series, Nanaka is a studious, serious 17-year-old girl not so well-liked by her childish peers. After falling down a flight of stairs, Nanaka loses 11 years of memory and has the mental capacity of a 6-year-old. The girl's father and best friend, Nenji, keep her condition under wraps so she can live a somewhat normal life. They strive to protect Nanaka not only from the bullies, but from the idea she may never be the same again.
