An emotionally disturbed man begins to have visions that make him believe he's living in a Sophocles play in this psychological thriller inspired by true events. The events he thinks he experiences lead him to brutally murder his mother with a sword. Directed by Werner Herzog and executive produced by David Lynch (Mulholland Dr.), the film stars Michael Shannon, Willem Dafoe, Chloë Sevigny, Michael Peña, Brad Dourif and Bill Cobbs.
