This homage to the private eye films of Hollywood's golden age boasts a long list of suspects and an ensemble cast that includes Angus Macfadyen and Nancy Kwan. When an aspiring singer is found dead on Hollywood Boulevard, a smooth-talking seductress persuades a crusty gumshoe to take the case. But the detective's prior relationship with the victim -- and his recently broken heart -- could get in the way of the truth.
