While visiting his friend Sir Henry Baskerville, detective Sherlock Holmes (Arthur Wontner) learns that prize racehorse Silver Blaze has gone missing and its trainer murdered. With an upcoming race fast approaching, Holmes doesn't have much time to find the steed. Although many people firmly believe Baskerville's future son-in-law to be guilty, Holmes is not a person likely to jump to any unproven conclusions.
