As optically challenged millionaire Mr. Magoo (Leslie Nielsen) bumbles through life, desperately in need of spectacles, he finds himself at a museum just as a jewel thief, Luanne Leseur (Kelly Lynch), is attempting to steal the Star of Kuristan, a priceless ruby. Through a fateful turn of events, Mr. Magoo winds up with the gem and finds himself with both thieves and federal officers on his trail.
