When a prehistoric fish found frozen in Madagascar is shipped to biology professor Donald Blake (Arthur Franz) for examination, little does he suspect the fish's blood is radioactive. Soon, everything it touches changes into its primal form -- including Dr. Blake. After cutting himself on the fish's teeth and then coming into contact with its blood, Blake turns into an axe-wielding Neanderthal threatening the safety of everyone around him.
