Unemployed longshoreman Joe Coyle (John Cusack) stumbles on $1.2 million and finds nothing but trouble. After Joe begins to flash large wads of cash during an indiscriminate spending spree, he attracts the attention of cops -- and then makes things worse by asking the Mob to help him launder his ill-gotten gains.
