Vinnie (Peter Falk) runs a pub and backroom betting operation in South Boston. He's a good friend -- someone to count on -- and he's satisfied with life. When the local mob starts muscling in on his action and sends a high-ranking boss's nephew to check out his books, Vinnie thinks he can handle it. But even a small thing -- an uncle looking for a family member or a bookie looking the other way -- can change everything.
