Obsessed with the wilds of Africa and the concept of a missing link between man and ape, a young boy living in the Netherlands (Nick van Buiten) runs away from home to accompany a professor (Johan Leysen) on an expedition to the Congo. Along the way, he digs into his mother's (Tamar van den Dop) diary and uncovers a few startling secrets about his own origins. Ger Poppelaars directs this heartwarming Dutch comedy.
