With Victorian England as the setting, this charmingly comic miniseries chronicles the backstory of cockeyed optimist Wilkins Micawber (David Jason), the genial bookkeeper who later appeared as a character in the Charles Dickens classic David Copperfield. Deeply in debt and hounded by a pitiless moneylender, Micawber takes on a number of ill-advised employment prospects in an effort to alter his circumstances. Annabelle Apsion also stars.
