Opera virtuoso Placido Domingo sings and Giuseppe Sinopoli conducts in famed filmmaker Franco Zeffirelli's production of Puccini's dramatic opera. Filmed in 1985 at the Metropolitan Opera House, the opera follows Tosca (Hildegard Behrens), the intense girlfriend of painter and free thinker Cavaradossi (Domingo), and their friendship with an escaped political agitator (James Courtney) who's hunted by policeman Scarpia (Cornell MacNeil).
