Bill Murray is Tripper, a goofy, puerile camp counselor who tries to lure a shy camper (Chris Makepeace) out of his shell. Hilarious and surprisingly sentimental at times, Meatballs remains a cult classic. (It also launched the collaboration of Murray, director Ivan Reitman and writer Harold Ramis, a partnership that later produced Stripes, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day.)
