Centering on Chaney's tumultuous personal life and ascent from cabaret clown to persevering Tinseltown extra to full-fledged movie star, Man of a Thousand Faces also re-creates many of the actor's renowned film characters, including the hunchback of Notre Dame and the phantom of the opera.
