Anime buffs will recognize "Macross," which initially ran as a Japanese sci-fi series, as one of three elements in the Robotech epic. When humans recover an abandoned space vessel and turn it into a battleship they dub the Macross, they don't count on its dormant computer system reviving itself. By firing on an alien ship and pulling Earthlings into a war with the Zentradi race, the Macross changes the course of human history.
