When his wife inexplicably walks out and his young daughter starts showing signs of depression, psychotherapist Joel Rothman (Jonas Chernick) begins to develop a serious problem of his own: insomnia. Thanks to his inability to sleep, however, he now has plenty of time to focus on the needs of his three new patients, who each suffer from severe post-traumatic stress disorder, a condition that just may shed some light on Joel's own unraveling life.
