Colombian immigrant and Los Angeles law student Sofia (Angie Cepeda) married her husband for a green card. But now their relationship has gone south, and her spiteful spouse is threatening divorce -- a move that would cause Sofia's deportation. Desperate to support herself, she agrees to become a surrogate mother for $50,000. But what she doesn't count on is how completely this arrangement will change her life.
