When progress on his experimental silent movie comes to a screeching halt, filmmaker Friedrich Monroe (Patrick Bauchau) reaches out to his friend and soundman, Phillip Winter (Rüdiger Vogler), for help, hoping that his microphones can capture sounds that will awaken his imagery. Written and directed by acclaimed German auteur Wim Wenders, this evocative mediation explores the power of film and the quiet beauty of one of the world's oldest cities.
