A group of militant, animal-rights protesters attempts to free potential "experiments" from a research facility but gets spooked when they trip an alarm. Worse, one of the activists (Ross McCall) gets left behind and takes the rap. A year later, an encrypted message arrives at the disbanded group's Web site, exhorting them to gather again at the lab. Bad idea -- because what awaits is an evil they can barely comprehend … much less fight.
