The series' seventh season -- which earned two Emmys -- finds Executive Assistant District Attorney Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston) with a new associate (Carey Lowell), who struggles to keep pace with her career and single motherhood. Later, a three-part story follows detectives Curtis (Benjamin Bratt) and Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) to Hollywood to investigate a studio bigwig's murder, and Adam Schiff (Steven Hill) sits at his ailing wife's bedside.
