Steely Nora Lewin (Oscar-winner Dianne Wiest) steps in to fill the formidable shoes of former District Attorney Adam Schiff as the popular series' 11th season begins. Among the controversial issues on the slate are prison budget cuts, gay adoption rights, using animals for AIDS research and the outcome of the 2000 presidential election. Guest stars include Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Megan Follows, Keir Dullea and Ron Leibman.
