In an effort to provide for her struggling mother (Jaya Bhaduri) and younger sister (Konkona Sen Sharma), Badki (Rani Mukherjee) begins a new life in Mumbai, where she finds work and sends money home to pay for her sister's education. But Badki's success comes at a dear price. After taking great pains to hide her secret double life from her sister, Badki is forced to think fast when her sibling moves to Mumbai to find a job.
