Most of the original cast of the wildly popular NBC television series about good-looking Los Angeles lawyers returns for this film. When Founding Partner Leland McKenzie (Richard Dysart) departs the firm, Douglas Brackman Jr. (Alan Rachins) is promoted. Meanwhile, Grace Van Owen (Susan Dey) prosecutes a former client whose counsel is headed up by an ex-lover, and Arnie Becker (Corbin Bernsen) faces a painful divorce.
