Priya (Preity Zinta) is a first-year college student who's cheerful, brilliant and the center of her family's world. When she becomes involved with Rahul (Saif Ali Khan) and gets pregnant out of wedlock, her life becomes more complicated than she ever could have imagined. She decides to give birth to the child, going against the social mores of her culture, but her courage and the support of her family help her overcome and resolve the crisis.
