Vincente Minnelli directed this adaptation of the beloved Broadway musical inspired by the Arabian Nights tales. Persian poet Hadji (Howard Keel) becomes a rich man nearly overnight, bringing love in the form of Lalume (Dolores Gray) and romance for his daughter (Ann Blyth). But Hadji's fortunate circumstances also kindle the evil schemes of the shifty Wazir (Sebastian Cabot). Songs include the popular "Stranger in Paradise."
