Elvis Presley stars as Danny Fisher, a naive but talented nightclub singer whose climb to the top takes a dangerous detour when he gets mixed up with the New Orleans mob. Walter Matthau is mobster Maxie Fields, who "insists" that Elvis play in his club. Widely considered Elvis' best movie, it's also one of the last films directed by Michael Curtiz (Casablanca).
