Teenager Watts Davies (Will Rothaar) is nursing a broken heart after his mother suddenly dies, leaving him in the care of his estranged father (Randy Quaid). Watts's only solace, it seems, is his love for go-karting, and he desperately wants to compete in the International Karting Federation regional championships to prove he's got what it takes to go all the way. Will he make it? And will he learn to trust his dad again?
