In this heart-tugging Bollywood treat, a rich man (Ashok Kumar) chooses impoverished Gauri (Hema Malini) to marry his pompous son. The son's outraged mother, Sunanda (Shashikila), arranges to replace the groom with her stepson, Govind (Jeetendra), an illiterate opium junkie. Unfazed, Gauri works to rehabilitate her troubled husband. Original songs by Bappi Lahiri and Anand Bakshi include "Angdai Leti Hai" and "Sooni Sej Sajadoon."
