Judy Berlin

  (1999)
A solar eclipse augurs strange behavior from Babylon, Long Island's denizens. A lonely, repressed teacher (Barbara Barrie) flirts with her school's married headmaster (Bob Dishy), who's hampered by his preternaturally cheerful wife (Madeline Kahn). Meanwhile, Dishy's depressed son connects with the titular heroine (Edie Falco), who's full of joie de vivre. A snapshot of real life, Judy Berlin has the declarative ring of truth.
