Cecil B. DeMille directs this classic silent epic, which stars Geraldine Farrar as Joan of Arc in a visually stunning retelling of the French martyr's story. A British soldier finds a rusty 15th century sword in the trenches during World War II and soon falls asleep, dreaming he's fighting in the service of the Maid of Orleans. Dedicated to her extraordinary visions, Joan leads France to victory, only to be burned at the stake by her countrymen.
