Following the 2006 war in Lebanon, filmmakers Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige began a unique cinematic experiment. Their cameras follow French superstar Catherine Deneuve and Lebanese actor Rabih Mroué on a tour of the bombed ruins of Beirut. The resulting pastiche -- equal parts scripted film, documentary and travelogue -- examines both the war and the role of filmmaking in the aftermath of world events.
