After a troubled childhood, Jane Eyre (Samantha Morton) becomes a governess at Thornfield Hall, caring for young Adele (Timia Berthome). The head of the estate, Edward Rochester (Ciaran Hinds), is a brooding yet alluring older man. Jane finds herself drawn to him, but her fears and Rochester's inner torment compromise their potential romance.
