Sparks fly as an American lawyer and an Italian bombshell fight for custody of a young boy in this romantic drama. When his brother dies in a car accident, Mike Hamilton (Clark Gable) heads to Italy to settle the estate. Hamilton wants custody of his 10-year-old nephew (Marietto), but the boy's Aunt Lucia (Sophia Loren) has already claimed him for herself. As Hamilton and Lucia vie for custody, their growing attraction for each other gets in the way.
