Gladys Glover (Judy Holliday) has found little fame or recognition as a model/actress and aims to boost her persona by renting a billboard -- smack-dab in the middle of Mantahattan -- adorned with her photograph. Soon, Gladys is deluged with support from Evan Adams III (Peter Lawford), who's instantly captivated by her beauty. Gladys's boyfriend Pete (Jack Lemmon) is not as supportive, sure that Gladys has succeeded only in objectifying herself.
