Gerry Trent (Gloria Swanson, in her talking-picture debut) owns a popular dress shop and specializes in haute couture for discerning ladies. Sick and tired of her philandering boyfriend, Jim Woodward (Monroe Owsley), Gerry dumps him on New Year's Eve. Soon after, she falls for writer Anthony Blake (Ben Lyon), who's just penned the best-seller Obey Thy Impulse … and that they do, in this frothy comedy directed by Leo McCarey.
