Suspecting a ship's captain of illegally smuggling Chinese immigrants into the country on his boat, hard-bitten reporter Joe Miller (Ben Lyon) woos the old salt's daughter (Claudette Colbert) to get the inside scoop. He gets his story, but in the meantime truly falls for the lovely lady. Now, he must choose between advancing his career or following his heart. James Cruze directs this vintage romance co-starring Ernest Torrence.
