In this suspenseful drama, emotionally unstable Evelyn Heath (Anne Baxter) moves into the home of her physician, Dan Proctor (Scott McKay), while he treats her cardiac condition. She soon becomes infatuated with his happily married brother, Douglas (Ralph Bellamy). Determined to break up the marriage, Evelyn gradually turns the members of the harmonious household against one another. The film received an Oscar nomination for Best Musical Score.
