Based on a true story, this touching drama stars Kristen Bell as Gracie, the 17-year-old daughter of a drug-addled woman (Anne Heche). Gracie is convinced she'd be a better parent to her siblings than her mother is, so she makes a move to adopt them when her mother's sent to jail. After enduring years of neglect and abuse, it's time for Gracie and her family to move on; unfortunately, her mother won't go away without a fight.
