This 1939 classic, based on the book by James Hilton, follows the emotional journey of Mr. Chipping (Robert Donat), from an uptight professor teaching his first class at the prestigious Brookfield school to, years later, his role as the beloved schoolmaster. But just when life seems rosy, tragedy strikes, shaking Mr. Chips's fabled existence. Greer Garson co-stars as Katherine Ellis, who marries Mr. Chipping and gives him his nickname.
