Go for Broke recounts the true story of a squad of Japanese-Americans whose contribution to the Nazis' defeat was marred by racism on the home front; The Battle of El Alamein follows the 1942 battle between the British and Germany's Afrika Korps. This World War II twin bill stars Van Johnson as a bigoted lieutenant who learns to respect the Nisei troops under his command, and Michael Rennie as the general who outfoxed Field Marshal Rommel.
